Print Mixing With Polka Dots

I love a good print mix and this is the first of many to come on my blog. 🙂 Print mixing can look messy and confusing when done wrong but when the prints compliment each other, a good print mix can be fun and interesting! I can’t resist a good polka dot print and this outfit feels fun and cheerful to me. How do you feel about print mixing? A do or don’t?

The Perfect Black And White Dress

This was one of those dresses that I tried on and knew I had to have. I felt pretty and confident in it and that’s not something that happens all the time. When I tried it on, it was over $350 and I just couldn’t bring myself to buy it….but I found it a couple months later for more than half off and grabbed it (just one left in my size-dontcha love it when that happens??). Well, my daddy paid for it but it was worth every penny and I’m sure he’d agree! 🙂

Hot Pink and Cobalt; Love A Good Color Combo!

Pink and cobalt is a color combo I love (here’s my anchored version and my sequin version) and this is my third time combining these colors on the blog! I usually stay away from button down shirts because most of you know how I feel about tucking in my shirt (I feel self conscious) and my (lack of) height makes them look ridiculous and sloppy. But I got smart and started to bring them to tailors to get them cut. I found someone I like that is well priced and cutting the shirts down have made a big difference. Of course when the shirt comes in petite, I don’t have to worry about cutting it, but I got this shirt from Gap on major sale-in 3 colors- and cut them to a better length for my frame.

Do you have a body type that makes it hard to shop for and what do you do about it? And what are your favorite color combos?

Friday Favorites

I thought that maybe it would be fun to show some of my favorite links every Friday. What do you all think?
Let’s try it out this week and please let me know what you think!

Loving the J.Crew collab with Jennifer Meyer! (You can find it all here )
Speaking of great collabs, I’m also loving Anthropologie’s collab with Peter Som! Too bad my favorite floral dress is sold out, but I’m also sort of glad because I seriously need to stay away from shopping. You can find the full collab here. My favorites are this quirky zebra dress and this gorgeous (sold out) floral dress. Oh, and the Tracy Reese collab is great too; this dress is my favorite.

Loving these sweet polka dot nails from blueberrydays
Must try this healthier alternative to muddy buddies or puppy chow (whatever you call it at home)! Check the recipe out here. For the record, I don’t believe in diets or depriving yourself but I do believe in eating in a balanced way.
Not really a link but this is my first attempt at watercolors. Don’t laugh!
Anyway, that’s all for now! Hope you have a fabulous weekend! xoxo
