Rule Breaker: Wearing White After Labor Day

I’ve always been terrible at adhering to rules. Fashion rules are just silly in my opinion. I’ll keep wearing summer clothes until it gets cooler (or until I do a fall photo shoot)! And anyway, we’ve all heard of the term “winter white” so bring on the white clothes all year round!

On another note, my inability to make decisions is clearly evident here by my refusal to pick just one pair of shoes for the outfit. Which do you prefer; the striped wedges or the D’orsay flats?

A Sequined LBD and Emerald Clutch!

While out to brunch with my mother a few weeks ago, I was scrolling through my instagram as we were waiting for our food (I know, I know, not polite at all). I literally squealed out loud when I saw that I won a Stelle Audio Clutch! My mother did not understand what I was so excited about but even my brother was impressed when he saw it. It’s a clutch…and a speaker; a really good speaker too! And Stelle Audio did an amazing collaboration with Rebecca Minkoff and although it was hard to choose, I went with this emerald green one. I was able to listen to music wireless through the Bluetooth of my ipod and phone. It’s the perfect addition to a party and it’s so exciting that it’s mine. 🙂

I thought that the perfect way to wear the clutch was with my sweet black sequined LBD; I love the peter pan collar and fit and flare style. Bow pumps and minimal jewelry completed the look. And don’t tell me you’ve never planned an outfit around your bag before; I know you have!

I waved like a  maniac to her, waving my clutch at her….until I realized it wasn’t her at all. Ha! So my type!

Peplum + Denim On The Highline!

Notice the DVF sign behind me? Well, after the photo shoot was over, I went to DVF because I had a gift card there. As I was in the dressing room, a woman pulled open the curtains and says “Oh, sorry dear!” As she closed the curtains, I realized that it was Diane Von freakin Furstenberg who just saw me completely naked! I wanted to run out after her but by the time I put some clothes on, she was in a meeting with google and I didn’t get to meet her for real. It was a sad, sad day but hey, how many people can say Diane Von Furstenberg saw them naked?

On another note, I live in this skirt. I got it on sale in Anthropologie a while ago and it’s one of my favorite purchases. Unlike other brands, this one doesn’t stretch out too much, it fits perfectly, and is super comfy! My favorite brands for denim are Level 99 and Blank NYC for sure. What’s your favorite brand for jeans or denim skirts?

Gorgeous Striped Lace Dress

I’m waking up 4 AM Monday morning to go on a much needed vacation. I’ll be around a bit less but will be back Friday (and of course will read all the comments I know you guys will leave)!

When I first saw this dress, it wasn’t even a question that I had to have it. Last year, I saw a similar dress for about $600 so when I saw this one at a much more affordable price point, I grabbed it. Bonus- it came in petite!

Top 6 Beautiful Handbags For Fall Under $100!

I felt guilty the last time I blogged about my fall wish list because so much of it was…well, pretty expensive! I sincerely believe that you can be fashionable and dressed well on a budget and hopefully I’ve proved it with these 6 affordable (and beautiful!) handbags under $100. Well, besides the Gigi NY which is $105 but if you join their mailing list, you’ll get 10% off your first purchase so it isn’t cheating, right? 😉
I’m loving Danielle Nicole for her beautiful line of affordable handbags and if you want more of a neutral option to #3, this one is an alternative and beautiful as well. Oh, and #5, hello affordable alternative to the gorgeous Clare Vivier….I actually like this Gap version better! My birthday is about a month away so feel free to send it my way.;)
Until the last few months, I was never into clutches and I have no idea why because they are such a great way to tie an outfit together. Added bonus: you can stick your clutch into your larger handbag and use it as a pretty, over-sized wallet or handbag organizer! Suh-weet!
What size bag do you carry around most often? Do you like clutches, big bags, little bags….? What’s your favorite? Share with me in the comments!
