I am obsessed with my new gorgeous jewels thanks to Lydell NYC. And I am so excited that they’re offering 30% off for my readers this entire weekend with code Shira30! The blue tonal statement necklace that I’m wearing here is one of my favorite pieces and while I’m not usually one for being matchy-matchy, the coordinating blue tonal drop earrings are beautiful and so well priced, even before the 30% off! And Real Simple magazine agreed because they featured them last Spring. I love Lydell NYC’s mix of jewelry because there is something for everyone; from edgy and trendy to more understated and minimal to bold and colorful. Some of my favorites include these cool gold triangle ear jackets, this fun multi-media statement necklace, and this adorable gold cat ears ring. Happy shopping! 🙂
I wore the sweatshirt two ways here; one slightly more dressed up with a fun embellished striped skirt and pink heels and the other for lounging around at home with my amazing new mint green sequin leggings from Viva La Jewels. They are so soft and cozy inside and… I mean, MINT GREEN SEQUINS!! 😉
I was debating whether or not to tell you guys about that time I owned the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag for like 5 minutes but hey, I know you will all be nice to me so here goes. 🙂 I’ve been dreaming about owning a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag for a long, long time but I felt way too guilty spending that kind of money on myself and of course let’s not forget the fact that it’s pretty much impossible to find one anyway because they are always sold out. Anyway, I was scrolling through instagram and I happened to come across a photo from Mansur Gavriel’s photo where someone had just commented at that moment that they restocked. Well, I had also just gotten Chanukah money from my grandparents and parents so I kind of impulsively just went for it and bought one. Ten minutes later it was sold out again but I got my dream bag!
My dream bag arrived just a few days later and I was too scared to use it because I had never spent so much money on a bag before and I was worried I’d ruin it. It sat in its dust bag for a few days and when my friend found out I had it, she asked (begged?) if she could buy it off me. I happily agreed as long as she would let me take pictures of it first. So here’s the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag that I owned for a week or two!
My house is freezing all winter (we have an old, crappy heating system) so cozy pajamas are an absolute must for me! And a soft, oversized sweater that discusses my love for champagne is obviously on my must-have list as it should be on yours. Because, champagne.
After reading the responses from Hallie and Rebecca answering some fun questions from this article, I thought it would be fun to answer some of my own! Keep scrolling to get to know me a bit better and I’d love to hear your responses in the comment section (or maybe a link to your blog post where you answer some of these questions). 🙂
Would you like to be famous? In what way? That’s a tough question because I would like to be a well-known blogger and successful therapist (and to perhaps write a book in the future) so I guess I’d like to be somewhat “famous” as that often brings more success and opportunities; however, I wouldn’t want to be “celebrity famous” and have no privacy/have my life picked apart. But there’s only so much control I have over that so I think it’s more important to focus on doing my best with every opportunity I have… and what will be, will be.
Before making a telephone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say? Why? Not really, probably due to pure laziness because rehearsing seems like too much effort. I mean, maybe if it’s a conversation where I need to confront someone, I might talk it through with a friend first but that is a rare occurrence.
When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else? In the shower. Always! 🙂 As for singing to someone else…. probably my 1 year old sister!
For what in your life do you feel most grateful? My family and friends in my life, truly. And my career as a therapist as I find my clients to be so brave and resilient and it’s a real honor to be part of their growth.
If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it be? I just started taking yoga classes a couple months ago so it would be pretty sweet to be able to do some of the crazy poses and balances I’ve been seeing!
What is the greatest accomplishment of your life? Completing my master’s degree in social work for sure. The people that know me well in my personal life understand on a deeper level why it was such an accomplishment.
What do you value most in a friendship? Genuinity (is that a word?) is incredibly important to me. Other things I appreciate are loyalty, a sense of humor, compassion and being non-judgmental.
What, if anything, is too serious to be joked about? Eating disorders. My friend died from bulimia in her young 20’s and it’s not a game or something to aspire toward. I hear people say that they wished they were anorexic for a day but in my opinion, it’s like wishing you had cancer for a day. It isn’t a joke; it’s a deadly and life threatening illness.
Your house, containing everything you own, catches fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, you have time to safely make a final dash to save any one item. What would it be? Ah, can’t lie, it would have to be my phone!
I love all shades of blue but this teal agate necklace from Nikki E. Designs is pretty amazing! I’m also wearing her gorgeous black druzy bracelet and onyx bracelet. Her jewelry is beautiful, cool, and fun but even more than that, I’m absolutely LOVING that until December 25th, she is donating 20% of each sale to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Unfortunately, Nikki lost her best friend to Leukemia and what an incredible and special thing to do for her!
