How To Style A Polka Dot Dress: long sleeve dress (only $25!) Shoes: hazel pumps c/o Bag: dionysus small shoulder bag (I think mine is medium)
I spotted this polka dot dress on a recent Target run and decided on a whim to try it. Because who else comes homes with a wagon filled with items from Target they didn’t plan for? That place is dangeroussss! I swear I was there for something boring like shampoo. But I digress…
I tried this dress on and knew it would be perfect for work. I like having professional but cute pieces that still feel like me and this fit the bill. Let’s talk about how to style a polka dot dress for work!
- I always think adding a pop of color gives the look a little more personality and oomph. If a pink shoe is too much for you, what about a more toned down burgundy in fall and winter or mint green for spring to summer? If you prefer flats (which I definitely do at work), opt for a pointy toe for a more dressed up and professional look.
- To keep it sophisticated, I added this black Gucci bag. I didn’t want to add to many pops of color for the work place. If I wore nude or black shoes with the dress, I would’ve swapped this black bag for a red or burgundy bag instead. I personally don’t love wearing black head to toe but I know that so many of you do.
- Lastly, I kept the jewelry minimal and dainty. I think a polka dot print has a lot going on already so I layered with some dainty stacking rings and called it a day. A dainty choker would be a pretty addition too!
