I was supposed to share this red embroidered dress on the blog last week but I ended up staying in Boston with my four year old sister who was undergoing heart surgery. I had originally planned on staying three or four nights but when Sunday night came, I knew there was no way I could leave my baby girl. I stayed until she was able to go home this past Saturday evening and took the week off from blogging to focus on her.
If you follow me on instagram, you may have seen some of her journey on my instagram stories. While we didn’t really have a real Chanukah this year, I got the one gift I truly wanted; for my sister’s surgery to be successful. Kayla is only four but she is such a special kid with such an amazing personality. I was so grateful that she was more of her silly, giggly self each day and such a trooper throughout the scary and painful times. She still has some more healing to do but it’s amazing to see the positive changes already.
The surgeon at Boston Children’s Hospital was one of only a few in the world who could do Kayla’s surgery so we definitely had a real Chanukah miracle this year. I am so grateful to you guys for your prayers and kind words throughout the last two weeks. And I can’t wait for Kayla to light the menorah next Chanukah!
My ombre star nails are a bit much for this dress but how fun are they??
